Mon Ing Dao

It was pouring when we arrived, and the security guard came all the way to our car with two umbrellas, even though we hadn’t called him. He kept smiling and telling us to take them. Such a friendly welcome. The service was great, and the boss clearly did a good job hiring nice people.

There are lots of room options, and both breakfast and the evening restaurant are good. It works as a romantic getaway for two, or just somewhere to relax.

A quiet hideaway above Chiang Mai, with misty mountains stretching into the distance. Everything feels peaceful here, and the slower pace lets you settle into the surrounding nature.

The restaurant was full of flies, and the staff didn’t seem to do anything about it. There were no fans or fly traps, and it left me worried about hygiene, especially with the restroom directly below the restaurant on the ground floor. I can’t recommend eating here. I stopped by briefly while passing through, and this is only a review of the hotel’s restaurant. I’d clearly asked for a non-spicy Tom Yum, but they brought it spicy. When I asked for a replacement, the waiter said they couldn’t do it. I had to go to the information counter before they agreed to remake it. The soup itself was poor too, with only a few shrimp and most of them just heads.
