Chour Palace Hotel

The staff were nice, but that didn't make up for how awful the stay was. The bed was rock hard, the bathroom had mold everywhere, and the shower only worked about half the time. I was given stained blankets, then a few days later had to move rooms when the AC started pouring water like a waterfall. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. DO NOT STAY HERE!

We came with our Lomsak tour group, about 20 of us, for a breakfast buffet at Chour Palace that had been arranged in advance. We weren't hotel guests, so I can't rate the rooms. After our two vans had spent 9 and a half hours on the road, the front office manager, I assume, greeted me like I was the Crown Prince. Her nickname is "Ah," and her smile chased away the morning sleepiness and the grey haze in the sky. She really showed Thai service and hospitality at its best. In America, she could be an "Undercover Boss" checking how staff treat guests. I told others about it afterward, and her welcome won the hotel new customers. The Lanna antiques, round teak staircase and elephant relief on the wall give the place a classical, turn of the century feel. Breakfast was more than enough: khao tom moo with ginger, garlic, shallots and other condiments, fried eggs, toast, jam, butter, a self-serve coffee station, O.J., salads, rice, curry beef with rice, and really good pad Thai, among plenty of other choices. We left full and ready for the day's activities and temples. I'd like to come back and stay. You can see the Thai Friendship # 2 bridge from the hotel, and the Glass Skywalk and Ethereal temple grounds are a short hop away. Chour Palace Hotel deserves its 5 Stars. That rating doesn't have to mean perfection, but a business needs a lot of things at a high level to earn it. Many thanks from our Lomsak tour group!

Breakfast was very good, with Thai food alongside the usual toast and yam. The room was clean and had a spectacular view. It's a very nice hotel near the Mynamar boarder. Rates go up a bit in high season, around November and December, much like the other hotels around here.

We had a city and mountain view from our spacious, well-priced deluxe room. The bed was firm but comfortable, and the small bathroom had a shower. Check-in was quick despite the extra covid19 precautions, and breakfast was fine. The hotel was very proactive about covid19. I'd stay again.
