Teva Valley Resort

We really enjoyed our stay, especially the mountain view from the pool. The rooms were great, and the location was excellent. We’ll definitely come back, and I highly recommend it.

Our room faced the field, away from the highway traffic, and it was spacious and modern. The place has a quaint feel. We loved the super-comfy bed and the shower, and the staff were helpful and friendly. There were complimentary drinks and snacks in the room, plus well-priced cocktails during Happy Hour from 5-8 pm. The patio hot tub was the letdown: it took ages to fill, its jets and lights didn’t work, and a faulty drain spilled water onto the patio. It clearly needs maintenance. Otherwise, we’d recommend the place.

Getting around was the hard part for us. We came from Chiang Rai by Grab for 800 baht, but couldn’t get one from the resort to explore the area. We walked to the fish temple one day and Tham Luang Cave the next, then caught a red truck taxi back from the cave. We loved both outings. Bring a headlamp for the fish temple caves. Leaving was a hassle too. We needed a taxi to the bus station 7 kms up the highway, and reception spent five minutes on the phone arranging one. It seemed like even the driver didn’t want to come. The 10-minute ride cost 400 baht, but we had no other choice. A rental car seems necessary if you want to explore. We liked the hotel itself: it’s well designed, with a spacious modern king suite, balcony, and large deck. The pool was clean with a nice balance of sun and shade. The gym had a good range of free weights and probably the best benches I’ve seen so far. Breakfast was made to order, with several choices plus salad, toast, juice, and pots of coffee and tea. The lunch and dinner menu felt limited, though the Thai dishes we ordered were very good. We’d first spotted the place while passing through on a motorcycle trip, liked the setup, and came back later to stay. A yoga mat for the gym and mountain bikes to help guests explore locally would be good additions.

The service was lovely, and the staff really cared. It’s a great spot for a one-night stay, with a stunning mountain view, tasty breakfast, and a warm pool. I’d love to return and get a massage here.
