A modern room, friendly owners, and the sound of the river nearby made this a great place to get away from busy Chiang Mai.

Waking up to the river’s low rumble is something I hope I never forget. My wife and I had a room right by the water at Plan Malee, and on the cooler days it was lovely to sit outside with coffee in the lounge next to our room. In the morning, mist hung among the dense trees across the river. It was my first trip overseas from California, and as someone who loves the outdoors but still wants comfort, this place brought those things together better than anywhere I’ve experienced.

The room I stayed in was comfortable and the rate seemed fair. There are lots of trees and a nice atmosphere here. I’d recommend it.
