Chic-Chidkong Boutique Hotel

My mother, who is nearly 70, stayed alone at this hotel in Nakhon Phanom on February 19. Around midnight, someone tried to open her room door without permission. The chain lock was engaged, and she heard the door being pushed before it suddenly shut again. She was extremely frightened and didn’t dare go near it. She immediately contacted the front desk and was told someone would call her back and inform management. No one followed up for two days, so she had to call again herself. The hotel first said security had seen the door open and close, then later claimed no one was there at that time. These conflicting accounts are alarming. There was no clear explanation, formal incident report, direct apology from management, reassurance that security footage would be reviewed, or acceptance of responsibility. Instead, she was told, “you can sue us or call the police if you want.” That was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. This caused my mother severe emotional distress. She was left with fear and anxiety for days because the hotel did not respond properly to a serious safety breach. This is a major failure of basic hospitality and safety standards. We require a formal written explanation of what happened, confirmation that security cameras were reviewed, clarification about who accessed or tried to access the room, information about corrective action, and an official apology with a proper resolution. If we don’t receive a prompt and responsible response, we will consider escalating this through formal complaint channels and legal review. We expect an urgent response.
