For 1700thb, the river-view room was very good, with an excellent view of the river and mountains. Staff were absolutely brilliant, and breakfast was very good. Floors 4 and 5 have the best views. The rooms could use some paint, though the city itself is clean and safe. It’s a 1.4km walk into town, made easy by the best pathways I’ve seen in Thailand, along the Mekong. Do the paradise dinner cruise.

There’s a 7-11 right beside the hotel entrance, which is a plus. The property sits along the river, across from Laos, and the surroundings are quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are fine, well furnished with amenities, and worth the price. Breakfast was nice and adequate, served in a huge dining room. Definitely recommended.

Right on the river, the hotel is at the start of the street vendors. My room was clean. It was a little pricey, but not enough to bother me. Breakfast was ordinary, perfectly fine, just not memorable.

I couldn’t sleep because the mattress was worn out, with a crater in it and springs I could feel through the lack of cushioning. It seemed like the hotel had chosen the cheapest mattresses, without a pillow top or memory foam. One reason to book a proper hotel is to shower, sleep, and rest. The hotel itself is nice, with a good lobby and a nice room with a balcony. The washroom has water pressure, though it’s only a little better than rain.

During my trip to Nakhon Phanom, I stayed at the Fortune Viet Khong Hotel and had a comfortable, cosy visit with a good view of the Mekong river. The staff were more than welcoming and accommodating, and even arranged a taxi to the airport in the morning. I recommend this hotel for a stay in Nakhon Phanom.
