Khota Hill Hotel

The rooms were clean, but I won’t be coming back. The toilet setup is impractical, and the shower was so cramped I could barely fit. Soundproofing was awful too. I could hear people walking past and talking in other rooms, making it hard to rest. Parking is limited. When I arrived, a homeless man asked me for money by my car. After I refused, he kept walking around the vehicle and staring at my child, which felt frightening and uncomfortable. I was with elderly family members and kids, so the whole thing was extremely unsettling. Breakfast was very disappointing: porridge with a small piece of pork, bread, butter, jam, coffee, Milo, and water. Definitely not worth bothering with.

I wasn’t impressed.

The bathroom had a very strong sewer smell that didn’t go away even with the ventilation fan on, so I kept its door shut the whole time. The rooms were medium-sized and clean, and the hotel is near the city centre. Parking is available behind it.

I planned to stay one night but ended up staying two. The room was small, though it reminded me of a hotel in Singapore, with premium amenities. There was a safe, refrigerator, large TV, kettle, instant noodles, and lots of power outlets. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the pillows were soft, and I slept soundly. The hotel itself isn’t large, but the amenities felt 5-star quality. It was new, clean, and smelled nice as soon as I arrived. The security guard was always at the entrance, and the front desk staff were lovely, polite, helpful, and gave excellent service and recommendations. You can park behind the hotel and enter directly from there. The Mekong River is across the street, and there’s a 7-Eleven opposite. Next door, Khao Tom Chingcha serves delicious rice porridge, which I highly recommend. The hotel’s Nakorn Siam coffee shop looked like it had a nice vibe and plenty of photogenic spots, but it wasn’t open when I arrived. It was due to open in a week, which was a shame. My rating is a perfect 10/10!
