Koh Yao Seaview Bungalow

The beach is beautiful, especially at high tide, and the whole island feels magical. It’s peaceful and quiet, just right for relaxing. We had really nice, clean rooms, and the staff did everything they could to make our stay as good as possible. The hotel also rents scooters at a very affordable price for exploring the area, and the locals were friendly. We’ll absolutely come back in the future.

The owner, an older woman, is so lovely, and this is a fully Thai-owned business. There’s an employee who speaks English and French and handles things with guests. They cook fresh, tasty food in small batches as you order, and the place is right on the beach. The bed and pillows were on the hard side, though we got used to them by the second day. Scooters are available for 200 baht a day, much cheaper than renting outside. We loved staying here and would recommend it.

The location worked well for us, with local restaurants within walking distance. The beach is gorgeous, though at low tide you can’t swim unless you walk about 20 minutes out. We found the best beach time was around 10 or 11 am to 2 pm. We rented a bike from the hotel for 200 baht a day, and it was in good working order, even for the tough trip to Mankei Bay. We ate at the hotel just once, for dinner, and the local food was nice. The rooms are basic, as we expected, and the pool is small but lovely for an afternoon dip. We had a lovely stay and thought it was very good value.

The beachfront room has incredible views. Sunrise feels magical, and the atmosphere at night is really chilled and cute. The restaurant food was a big surprise, proper traditional Thai cooking, and the squid was the best we’ve ever eaten. Breakfast was great too. We had three wonderful days here and loved it. The scooters are new and run perfectly, and the staff make everything easy. Kai was especially kind and helpful with everything. We’d definitely come back.
