Feel Good Resort

The bed was large, clean, and comfortable, and the pillows smelled fresh. The duvet was heavy and good quality, so sleeping itself should have been fine, but mysterious music played all night. It sounded like a violin, maybe music from a temple festival or funeral, but it wasn’t Thai music. It felt eerier than a horror movie, and I’ve never been that scared. If it had been the sound of kites flying all night, that would have been even stranger. Our dog kept its tail between its legs. My boyfriend and I had to wear headphones and listen to music or Buddhist teachings all night because we couldn’t sleep. In the morning, he took the dog out near our room and an elderly Cambodian woman followed us, keen to chat and say good morning, leaving her young grandchild struggling behind her. It was funny in its own way. The bathroom smelled of sewage, so we kept spraying air freshener. The resort’s two big dogs kept glaring at and threatening our dog, as if ready to fight. We had to chase them away constantly, and although staff helped, the resident dogs kept coming back. It made it impossible to do anything and was very annoying. The room was okay for the price, and the resort isn’t too far from the city. Pets are allowed, but the extra charge was confusing: 150 baht for a dog should have brought the total from 600+ to 800+ baht, but staff told me there was another 150 baht charge, making it 1,000 baht. The area around it was full of Cambodian families, like being in Poipet. There’s no restaurant or breakfast, just coffee and other drinks, so buy food from shops or 7-Eleven beforehand. My boyfriend broke a glass and the resort charged us 50 baht. We tipped them another 110 baht, left, and don’t plan to return.

The price was reasonable, and the room was comfortable and nice. It’s a good option if you’re bringing a dog. Very good overall.

I wasn’t happy with the stay. The room was dated, the sheets and pillows were worn out, and the towels felt stiff. The bathroom was dirty and had water sitting on the floor.

The detached house was quiet and secure, just a short way down the alley from the bypass road. The room was clean, with hot water and Wi-Fi. Thanks to the owner for ordering food for us. I arrived late in the evening and hadn’t eaten yet. 👍👍👍
