OYO 842 Samsiri Resort

The room itself was good. Getting to restaurants was a bit of a trek, though, and the hotel frontage had weeds growing over it. Maybe things would improve once the road is finished.

There are lots of rooms, each like its own little house, for 600 baht apiece. You can park trucks and trailers here as well. It sits along the main road, though the entrance is easy to miss and not very well lit, so GPS is useful for finding it.

The owner was very nice, but I think the staff need replacing. The cleaning lady in particular was complaining to guests and talking badly about the owner, saying they hadn't bought a vacuum cleaner and didn't have a washer or dryer. She also said another cleaner had been opening room doors at random. Thankfully, the cat didn't get out. That's all.

I've stayed here many times, but after what happened I don't feel comfortable coming back. There's no security. The owner is nice and looks after customers, and the auntie is the only staff member I thought was good; the others seemed rather clueless. One staff member tugged at our door to get the remote, saying he was coming in. Luckily it was locked from inside. Is that even okay? If a pet had gotten out, nobody would have taken responsibility. Then, even more shockingly, someone from the room next door used a key to unlock our door. They said they'd gone to the wrong room, and luckily it was locked from inside too. What time is security?
