Zada Residence

I looked at several hotels and condos for a one-month stay before settling on Zada Residence Hotel. It has three room sizes, and I picked the middle one, which has an extra area with a wardrobe. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, with a flat-screen TV and refrigerator, but no tea or coffee facilities. It’s a 20-minute walk to The Mall, and 7/8 minutes to 7-11 and Lotus's express. The access road has been repaired and is now open both ways. You can also get in from 1120.

I stayed overnight on a road trip to Northern Thailand. The price was nice, the rooms were clean and modern, and the staff were friendly, though they didn’t speak much English. There’s AC. The beds are quite hard, but I liked that.

Service was hit and miss. Some days our room had been made up when we got back, and other days we had to ask. The staff are helpful, and some speak good English, but you can’t be sure of finding one when you need one. The rooms are bright, clean, and comfortable, and the pool is nice, with a shallow area for small kids. It’s about a 15m walk from the train station, which isn’t great with luggage since motorbikes are about the only taxis you’ll find in town.

A satisfactory, quiet stay for three nights. The rooms we were given looked clean and new, and it’s a good budget hotel. Some convenience stores are five minutes away, while the bus and train stations are a 30 to 45 minute walk.
