Those pillows were so thin, like the pork belly at a shabu place, and the bed felt like a wooden board. Fixing both would make this a really pleasant stay. As it is, I’d probably only come here once.

Everything was really clean, and the customer service was friendly. The place looked fully renovated, the shower had good pressure, and the blow dryer worked great. I’d definitely recommend it. :)

That wardrobe creaked several times during the night. If things like that scare you easily, maybe stay somewhere else. The bed was very comfortable, the bath got warm, and the air conditioning was brand new and ice cold. It’s also an easy walk to Walking street, and the price is super cheap. The hotel itself looks and feels about 40 years old, though. The room could use a full renovation, along with new bedsheets and bath towels. It works for a budget traveller, but I think you could get much better for another $10/night.

The rental bicycles were in really poor, unsafe condition, so don't use them. The staff were helpful, though most of them spoke limited English apart from the Manager. Breakfast had only a couple of options, backed eggs or rice porridge, but the portions were good and the food was good quality. The WiFi was quite good, though you have to reconnect every day. TV had lots of Thai channels, plus a few Vietnamese and Lao ones, one English movie channel and one news station. The rooms are compact and clean, but comfortable, with good hot water and AC. The location was handy too, about 5 minutes on foot to the riverfront, 7 minutes to the night market, and 2 minutes to local restaurants and a 7 Eleven.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or its VIP room. It’s past its heyday, and I’d strike it off the list. The earlier good comments may have been from shillers. The rack rate was 600฿, or 800฿ for the VIP room, though it was less on Agoda. Overpriced for what you get. I picked the place online based on the pictures and a visit from a few years ago, but the VIP room was small, cluttered, cramped, tired and shabby. The bedding looked grubby and didn’t seem fresh or laundered. Breakfast was miserable: pork noodle soup, white sliced bread, butter, water and one juice. The receptionist had said fried eggs and pan-fried eggs would be available, and there was no “fabulous breakfast” like an earlier review mentioned.
