For about $16, the clean room came with AC, a flat-screen TV, a small fridge, an electric kettle, and Wi-Fi. There’s a little pool, and the restaurant and 7-11 are roughly 200 meters away. It can be a bit hard to find.

A good-value budget hotel in a central Nong Khai location. The pool was a real highlight, and it’s easy to walk to the Mekong River, markets, bars, spas, government offices, and restaurants. My room was spacious and quiet, and the customer service was flexible.

Pantawee puts you right in the middle of late-night Nong Khai activity. The restaurant is quite decent, and I hear you can get a massage by calling from your room. Room quality varies, and the price feels a little high for Isaan.

This older place is friendly, fairly priced, and handy for the commercial arcade and the renovated Mekong riverwalk. It’s a bit funky, but there’s a small pool and a restaurant open around the clock. Check that the AC in your room isn’t dripping.

I’ve been staying here for 15 years, and it feels like home. There’s a family atmosphere, really friendly staff, and quiet rooms in the courtyard. The Mekong and the markets are a five-minute walk away.
