Baan Anodat

The road here can be confusing. Near the point where you go under the bridge, look around the corner for the restaurant and accommodation. The hostel is run by a small family with few staff, so there's no service for ordering drinks or other things. For the BTS Skytrain, you can take a songthaew for 10 baht and get off at the station, where the market is nearby. Across the bridge are little attractions, pictures on the walls, cafes, riverside restaurants, and the old city shrine. It's a quiet place with clean rooms, tasty food, a lovely view of the bridge from the window, and very good security. I stayed nine days and can say it's a great place.

It's peaceful by the water and away from Bangkok's noise. The welcome was perfect, and the staff took great care of us, even offering essential oils to keep mosquitoes away. The food was cooked on-site and was delicious and full of flavor.

The mattress was my one real problem. It dips at the edge and is so uncomfortable that you feel like you're sleeping on the springs. A good, thick topper would help. One pillow is sunken and the other lumpy, so they seem past their best. We came mainly to sleep, and if we can't sleep well, we won't want to return. The room is a bit small, but there's a riverside restaurant right next door where you can walk over and relax. The air conditioning is cool, and the room has a small fridge, large TV, TrueID box, free Netflix, strong water pressure, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, kettle, and Wi-Fi. Breakfast was good and I'd recommend it. I was still quite impressed otherwise. Thank you.

The price is reasonable for such clean, beautiful accommodation that's arranged so nicely. The staff and housekeepers are very polite, and the owner is lovely. Breakfast was delicious and healthy, and the atmosphere and views are amazing. There are hundreds of photo spots around the property. It's priced like a 3-star place but the service feels 5-star! 👍👍👍👍👍
