We really enjoyed paying extra for a river-view room at this quiet spot by the river. Our room was clean and spacious, and breakfast was included and yummy. I'm vegan, and after I contacted the staff ahead of time, they accommodated me very well with a different breakfast each day of our two-night stay.

The location is a bit far out, but it's really quiet, with almost no city noise. We got lots of helpful tips on where to go and what to see, like taking the boat instead of the metro. The room and service were perfect. Breakfast was good, though a little too Western and a bit small for us.

It's about a 15-minute walk to the pier, where you can catch a boat into town. The nearest convenience store is quite a walk away, but the owner kindly supplied everything I needed, even though I didn't ask for much. The place has a small B&B feel and a laid-back country atmosphere. Breakfast is included with the rooms. When I checked in, I mentioned that I had to leave for the airport around 5 a.m. on my last day, and the owner gave me fruit juice and croissants to have at the airport. Lovely!

Our rooms were very clean and had good equipment. The host was hospitable, too, and let us stay in the restaurant after checkout. That meant we didn't have to wait nine hours at the airport for our flight.

We loved the breakfast and the bed, and this family-run hotel in Nonthaburi was the most enjoyable place we stayed in Thailand. It has direct access to Bangkok's main river. We'll definitely come back.
