Nonthaburi Palace Hotel

The food costs too much. Rice is 20, a fried egg is 25, and Coke and water cost the same.

The staff and restaurant are excellent, and the location and rooms are good. It’s an older hotel, and after 12 years it hasn’t changed at all. I could log in to my own Netflix on the smart TV. The one downside is the unreliable Wi-Fi, just like 12 years ago. 😁

The Palace feels like a relic, and it’s a long way from anything interesting in Bangkok. Still, the downstairs restaurant and its late-night karaoke are fun, and the staff are polite and helpful. Most rooms were empty while we were there, but each one had some little issue. Staff kept asking if we wanted to switch rooms, lol. We moved twice during our two-day stay, then left early and paid extra to give up the last night. We found a room at Holiday Inn express instead. I’d suggest doing something similar, or just avoiding the Palace.

It’s just okay. Everything feels dated, and they seem unaware of how dirty it all is. There was no hot water for a shower or bath, and the water pressure was too low anyway. The lifts are scary, dropping several inches when you step in. The reception staff don’t speak English, and neither do the other staff, which isn’t helpful. I’d never stay here again.
