Baan Pinklao

We booked for a few nights before our flight. The local area was handy for food and shopping, with a large grocery store nearby, and the Skytrain was a 1 km walk away. We had room 405. It was clean and came with two bottles of water, clean towels, hot water, air conditioning, a fridge, and local TV channels only. The room itself was very small, and the bathroom was tiny, with the sink, shower, and toilet almost on top of one another. There was no Wi-Fi in the room at all. There’s no elevator, and smoking isn’t allowed on the balcony. The plastic cover on the bed made it uncomfortable and noisy when we slept. I’d suggest staying somewhere else in the area.

Getting my suitcases up to the fourth floor was quite a workout since there’s no elevator. The corridors have fans, but they’re still far too hot and humid. Thankfully the rooms have air conditioning. My room was tiny, as was the toilet and shower room. The wall color was unusual for a hotel, and having bars on the window seemed strange too.

We wound up here by accident. There’s a bus at the end of the street and a couple of very large supermarkets nearby. The bathroom was clean and functional, and the Wi-Fi was okay, though not great. The rooms are small. This feels more like a cheap stopover for local business people than a place for tourists. It’s out in the suburbs, and not a particularly nice suburb either.

The location worked well, with Lotus just a stone’s throw away. For the price range, the stay was acceptable. The room was fine, and they fixed the TV remote promptly. There’s no elevator, so you have to take the stairs, and the corridor from the third floor up is dark. Only one staff member could speak with me in English. The other couldn’t understand what I was trying to say.
