Anyavee Chom by the Sea

This is an inexpensive hotel right on the beach. The cleaning staff were keen and helpful, and the front desk arranged my island-hopping tour. Late at night, locals race their modified motorbikes and it gets really loud. Also, I couldn’t find the hotel in Grab unless I searched its Thai name or located it manually.

The sea is nearby and there are plenty of restaurants, which made the location pretty good. The room wasn’t very clean, though. Someone shot berries onto our balcony and got them all over our clothes. Three pieces of clothing are damaged now. The manager said he’d sort it out, but nothing came of that. I think it may have been a man nearby who seemed mad to me. He usually goes to the sea and talks to himself.

We paid for four nights but checked out after the first because the room was so dirty. The sheets and pillows smelled of old sweat, the air conditioning had a horrible odor like something had died inside it, and there was black mold in the shower. The whole room stank. When we raised it with the hotel, they just told us to contact Booking and offered no help or solution. We’re worried we won’t get our money back. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever slept in.

The price was very good, and the place was nice and clean. The owner looked after us well and tried to help whenever we needed something. Breakfast was included as a buffet.
