COCO Canopy Boutique Resort

Coco Canopy made a great base for exploring much of Koh Jum. We liked checking out local restaurants, but the hotel's food was surprisingly good and reasonably priced, so we ate there now and then. The pool worked well for the kids, and being close to the beach meant we could enjoy some beautiful sunsets. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We had a really relaxing stay.

Scooter rental was easy and low-key, even for beginners, since there was so little traffic on the island. There are several good restaurants nearby, and the beach is an easy walk away. We stayed in a small, clean bungalow surrounded by palm trees, with a stunning pool close by. Breakfast is pretty basic. You can pay for add-ons, but the taste overall and the lack of Thai options could be better. Still, it’s a lovely, clean place to enjoy Koh Jum.

The peaceful setting among the palm trees was lovely, and everything was spotless. We slept well in the comfortable bed, and the big shower had warm water and good pressure. The AC worked very well. The restaurant food was tasty and the breakfast plentiful. We also liked the little foot washer by the rooms, could swap my book for another, and saw massages were offered on the grounds, though we didn't try one. The nearby beach is tranquil and cool. They picked us up and dropped us off for free. Ed, if I got his name right, was outstanding: friendly, helpful, and spoke amazing English. The pool was stunning and the deck chairs comfortable. We were travelling for 6/7 months, so two nights here felt like a treat at this price point. The first impression could have been better. I had to chase the hotel through Agoda and Watsapp about pickup, got no replies, and only reached them by phone two days later. For what we paid, I expected the rooms to be exceptional. At another property for a third of the price, we felt the accommodation was comparable, apart from the pool, though Coco's bungalow may have been bigger. The dogs in the area chased scooters, and we'd been told they had bitten tourists. Even as a dog lover, I felt nervous. The open bathroom let in mosquitoes and other bugs; we had wasps, beetles, and two cockroaches in there, and would have preferred it closed off. The food tasted good, but portions seemed smaller than elsewhere we'd eaten. It was beautiful, but the price didn't quite meet my expectations. I'd give it 8/10.

FA at reception deserves a special mention. She was lovely, attentive, kind, and always smiling. Every staff member made us feel at home, and the food was delicious. The place itself is beautiful, the facilities are in perfect condition, and it’s very close to the beach. I wouldn’t change a thing, and I totally recommend it.
