Kohjum Sea Beach Resort

It's secluded, so this is mostly a place to relax rather than get a city vibe. There are a couple of other restaurants along the beach, but we thought this resort had the best food. Rooms were cleaned every day and kept nice, though they're a little worn. We barely saw any bugs, just a few geckos, never in the rooms. The staff were excellent, helpful and communicated well in English. Shout-out to the waiters and receptionists. They helped with everything from taxis to longtail boats. The 700-meter gravel road wasn't an obstacle for us. It isn't a jungle path, just a regular dirt road, and our drivers went all the way to the hotel. We didn't see monkeys during the day, though we heard them on the roof one night. No big deal, they weren't dangerous or a nuisance. Really good place.

I loved this calm, very nice hotel on Koh Jum and hope to come back. The staff were excellent and helpful. Rooms are a little outdated, but that added to the charm for me. Good value for the price, and the only thing I'd improve is the breakfast.

The only thing to be aware of is that quite a few Swedish and German families with young kids have found the place. There was often loud screaming and crying. Still, the friendly staff, bungalows with great sea views and beach made this perhaps the best resort on the island. Full marks.

Don't stay here. The room was filthy and rundown, nothing like the photos, and we wanted to leave early. They wouldn't refund us. Save your money and go somewhere else. I don't understand the good reviews. The Seaview Teak Villa feels like a total scam.
