B2 Pai Premier Hotel

I won’t be coming back. The rooms were pretty average, and there are other places I’d choose if they’re available. Both check-in and check-out involved unpleasant communication with the receptionist. At check-in they wanted to see a passport with an entry stamp, something I’d never been asked for before. I didn’t have mine with me, but luckily they accepted my DTV visa. The receptionist spoke to me as if he were doing me a favor, which left a bad feeling. Then after checkout they claimed we’d taken a teaspoon, although I hadn’t even touched the glasses in the room.

The room needed better upkeep. Dust covered the surfaces, with a thick layer inside the wardrobe. The safe didn’t work, the sink tap was barely attached, and the shower was crusty and brown and needed a scrub. The building is a huge, soulless concrete structure, with bird droppings all over the stairs. Reception felt stand-offish. The location is great, and the pool looked okay. I didn’t use it, but saw other guests swimming. One morning there was no water at all, but maintenance and housekeeping fixed it quickly.

The price didn’t feel fair for what we got. Our room was small, and the toilet and shower were in the same area, so there was no privacy. The toilet also smelled a bit like sewage. The hotel is somewhat far from the main street. We didn’t like the place. The staff were unfriendly and made us uncomfortable. It felt to me like they were projecting their past experiences onto us.

The rooms didn’t look like the photos on the website, and the hotel is a long way from Walking Street and the center. If you enjoy being woken at 4 AM by chickens and roosters, this might be the place for you.
