Ming Guesthouse

Room 15 is meant for four people, but the air conditioning was underpowered and couldn't cool it down, or perhaps it needed maintenance. We complained, but instead of moving us, they brought an extra fan. We left the fan on all night and still struggled with the heat. We checked out the next morning and looked for another hotel with cooler air conditioning.

A friendly family runs this place, and you can see their good-hearted touch in the green driveway and all the flowers. It's very close to the city centre but still quiet. Thank you so much.

We stayed two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. It was a great base for exploring Pai, with a five-minute walk to Walking Street while still far enough away to be quiet. There was private parking for motorcycles and scooters, plus a nice courtyard outside the rooms. Our room was big and very clean, with a huge, super-comfortable bed, plenty of lighting, and good AC. Laundry across the street was convenient too.

The room was the letdown. It didn't really look like the photos and seemed neglected, with a strong mold smell when we walked in. It badly needed a proper clean and fresh paint. The garden, by contrast, was very well kept and a pleasant place to relax. Staff were friendly, breakfast was simple but good, and the hot shower worked fine for us, despite this apparently having been an issue before. It was a good location for us, five minutes from Walking Street but still quiet. The price was a tiny bit high for what we got.
