My wife and I had a rough drive to Pai and got out of our grab feeling like we might throw up. We had to lie down on the front lawn. The owners came out to help, giving us a smelling cream that eased the dizziness and making us lemon tea. We can't thank them enough. They're incredibly kind.

The location is convenient, about a five-minute scooter ride from the city center. There's a refrigerator and hot water, and the room comes with basic toiletries like soap and shampoo. The decor feels rather old-fashioned, and there was a slight musty smell in the room. The nightly rate was 700 baht because of Thailand's national holiday, compared with the usual rate of around 300 baht. It's a budget option with few amenities, so whether it's worth it depends on the date.

The room was really dirty and the housekeeper hadn't cleaned it. She seemed incompetent. When we checked out late, at 9:30 AM, she looked at us with a displeased expression.
