The hot water stopped working on our second night, and we had to ask someone to come replace the machine. We weren’t offered a room change or any compensation, so we just waited for the repair. The rooms were dark, dirty and dated during our three-night stay, and the whole place felt old and run down. Maybe it was better a few years ago, but it wasn’t easy to enjoy our time there. The river looked too dirty for activities, and the pool was in another building and freezing cold. There wasn’t anything for my kids to do. The grounds were muddy, and there were big gaps between the bridge planks. I could keep listing problems. It wasn’t exactly cheap, so I’d spend a little more to stay somewhere else in Khao Yai and avoid the disappointment.

The service was incredible. Receptionist Nath went out of his way to find us a quieter room when the party next door made Christmas day noisy, and he searched both rooms when we lost an item. I’d give him 6 stars if I could. The rooms themselves are 3*.

Great breakfast, and the location isn’t too far from most tourist attractions. It’s suitable for families, group retreats, and seminars. But avoid it if loud noise bothers you, especially big groups of drunk people jumping into the river or doing outdoor karaoke.

We’re really enjoying our stay. There’s nature and a river all around, plus a cafe and restaurant. Perfect!
