Best Western Plus Wanda Grand Hotel

We came with a few students for a nearby Robotics Competition, and the staff were thoughtful and friendly. They kindly arranged for our rooms to be on the same corridor, and let us use some communal space to practice. They gave the students time to show they could be respectful, instead of immediately moving us on, as many hotels might have done. I know this may not help holiday makers much, but I appreciated how considerate the staff were. The amenities and breakfast were excellent too.

After a long day at THAIFEX, I came back to find a towel elephant topped with a pink rose waiting in my room. I hadn't expected it, and it really made my day after hours walking around the trade show. Thanks to Nitrudee from housekeeping for that sweet little touch. The room was clean and well looked after too, just what I needed after such a tiring day.

I've stayed here before, and the staff have been friendly, helpful, and supportive. This time the room was pretty strange, though. The fridge didn't work and was missing a shelf. We booked for three, but apart from water bottles, glasses, coffee mugs, and towels, the toiletries were provided for just one person. The kettle had water left in it, and there was something yellowish in the toilet, as if someone had used it and not flushed properly. The wallpaper was lifting a little, a wardrobe light was blinking like it was about to die, some bathroom tiles looked ready to come loose, and a few towels had pale red spots. It's not a super expensive hotel, and I understand some things might not be perfect. But we paid about 5,000 THB for two nights, even with a discount, so I think we had a right to expect better. Imagine paying the regular price.

The staff were friendly throughout, and the hotel is solid, with large rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast has a big dining area and lots of choices, though there was no bacon, and my Thai wife didn't think the Thai options were very good. The bed was the usual hard one for Thailand.
