Baan Yuree Resort and Spa

Cockroaches in the room and a terrible bathroom smell made it impossible to feel comfortable or even shower properly. Cleanliness clearly isn't being taken seriously here. When we raised the problem, the staff showed no concern and weren't professional. They charge guests for basics like drinking water instead of addressing the hygiene issues. This place needs pest control and better management. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who cares about cleanliness and basic hospitality.

Getting up the hill to the hotel took a lot of effort, it was very steep. The pools were dirty, with leaves in them, and people were allowed to eat and smoke in the water. There were also lizards in our room and old, dirty pipes left on the balcony. A party for people who weren't staying at the hotel was very loud and went on until the early hours, so we couldn't sleep. We kept our room tidy, but were still fined 500 baht because a towel we used to dry ourselves was dirty. The service wasn't great, and I wouldn't call this a 4-star hotel.

The bed was painfully uncomfortable, like sleeping on wood. We booked three nights as a couple but got twin beds in a room that didn't suit us, and basic amenities were missing. They charge extra for nearly everything, even drinking water, a second key, and use of the safe. The staff were very rude and unhelpful, and the service fell far short of what we expected. This was one of the worst hotel stays we've had. I strongly suggest avoiding Ban Yuree Resort & Spa Phuket if you expect comfort and proper hospitality.

The three-level pool was beautiful and well maintained, and the WiFi was fast. That was about all I liked. Baan Yuree's 4-star claim feels like a joke: the place is old, dark, and poorly looked after. Our room had dated interiors, poor lighting, and a tiny TV that wasn't smart. After every shower, water pooled badly in the bathroom. The plumbing was faulty: the sink tap lifted out when we tried to increase the pressure, and the water was either scalding hot or icy cold, with no way to control the temperature. The main door took two people to shut, and there were no charging outlets near the bed. The gym smelled like burnt eggs and felt like a dungeon. We complained within 15 minutes, but they rudely refused a refund and demanded 5,000 THB to move us to another floor, without upgrading us. The place is isolated, and the access road is an alarming 60-degree incline. You feel stranded unless you're a marathon runner. If sleeping on the road is your only other option, choose that. It'd be better. Avoid Baan Yuree.
