Garden Phuket Hotel

The photos look 50 years old, jokes aside, they’re outdated. I don’t usually review places, but wanted to help others with a positive, negative or neutral account. The price isn’t bad, and the cleaning ladies were good, so I’ve given two stars. Rom + Rodger also gave great service. Otherwise it would’ve been one star. Still, expect ants and flies on the bed, floor and in the bathroom. My previous hotel (tiger) had left me with bed rashes, and I raised the issue quietly so arriving guests wouldn’t hear. Mon aired out the sheets but didn’t replace them, and suggested I sleep on the blanket instead of the sheets, giving me an extra blanket. They said they’d provide an extra night, but I think we misunderstood each other. I don’t usually complain and try to find solutions, but both sides need to be clear or excuses come later. I was on the third floor, and a few hours into my stay I heard a woman, who I believe was Mon, yelling and crying at her man. It was loud and toxic, with door slamming, not an ordinary argument. It felt like being in middle school with uncontrolled emotions. Be careful with her, all sunshine and rainbows until otherwise. The cleaning staff were nice, but with Mon you get the impression of good service until you don’t. Customers should be treated with respect because they’re the reason the business exists, not given fake positivity for that day’s profit. Mon had the receptionist call me and tell me to go downstairs to sort out the issue, though he or the boss wasn’t there, which made no sense. I asked for his name for the review, but he gave me the cleaning lady’s name, Mon. She overheard and yelled at him, “why you give him my name, and don't give him yours”. To me that showed no accountability, especially from a man. Enjoy your stay or find somewhere better, your choice.
