La Vista Patong Hotel

The staff are genuine and helpful, and it’s not too far from Bangla Road. Outside can get noisy, but it’s fun to watch the day and night life. Rooms are clean and basic, fine if you’re not after luxury. You get what you pay for.

I booked based on the online photos, reviews, and a freestanding tub. The photos didn’t match reality, the reviews can’t be real, and there was no tub at all. Nothing I saw online is here. The room was extremely loud, and you could hear everything. The place is poorly renovated, with sloppy work around the sink that looked like it had been done by a child. The faucet is loose, and the toilet doesn’t flush properly. I have to lift the lid and press the buttons by hand, and even then it doesn’t fully flush. There is nothing luxurious about this property. I complained and was offered a refund, but after a five hour trip to get here, with heavy rain outside, I couldn’t face booking another hotel for my three day stay. Phuket definitely isn’t my vibe, and neither is this hotel. This is the third time I’ve felt swindled by properties and the internet in Thailand. The price showed a big saving, but even the discounted rate wasn’t worth it.

There were lots of restaurants and shops right outside, and the place also has a pizza restaurant downstairs, laundry service, and a really good spa. I had a three hour treatment and felt amazing afterward. The pool was under construction during our stay, so we couldn’t try it. The location was good, and I’d definitely stay here again.

Check things carefully before staying here. The toilet wouldn’t flush, and the sheets hadn’t been changed from the previous guest. There were blood stains on the pillow and the cushions were filthy. Staff said the marks were just the pattern, and nobody was available to change the sheets, so we had to replace them ourselves before going to bed.
