Maritime Rooms Patong

The staff were the only good thing about this hostel. It’s cheap, but the dorm was hot, dirty, and had no windows. The bathroom smelled awful and was very dirty too. A really bad place.

After a month of moving between places in Thailand, this is the best budget hotel I’ve found. It’s right in the center of patong and close to the market, but set off the main road, so it stays quiet at night. They clean the room every day, there’s a big fridge, and the staff are super helpful. *****

I didn’t feel this place was worth the money. For the same price, there are cleaner, tidier, and better organized hostels around. The dorm looked messy and dirty. The water smelled stagnant, so I had to buy my own for brushing my teeth and use a local gym’s showers.

The location is good, very close to Bangla road and the beach, but the standard room didn’t look like the pictures on Agoda, which was disappointing. I found lizards, a cockroach, and a spider in my room, apparently because the bathroom netting was poor. You get what you pay for, so don’t expect much.
