Minimal House Patong

The location is fantastic, with a supermarket across the road where beer is cheap, around 40 baht or 60 for a large one, and plenty of other food. Inside, it’s modern, freshly painted, and has great TVs. The place is unbelievably clean, the hot showers are lovely, and the style is modern and eco-friendly. Wi-Fi is fast, and the staff are friendly. Beds are clean but very firm. If you're staying a month, why spend a lot? There’s no big deposit under the trust policy, and you can leave your key in the box. Just avoid rooms above the second floor if you have heavy luggage, since you’ll need to carry it up. Try for a room with a window, or it might feel like a prison, even if it’s a good one. You're there to get out, experience things, and spend your money on a good time, not sit around looking at curtains.

We picked this hotel mainly for the price, using Phuket as a stopover before an overnight trip to Surin islands. We didn't spend much time in the room, but what we found was better than expected. If you want to visit Bangla road aka patong walking street, the location is ideal. Our room had no windows, which didn't bother us, and the bathroom was large and nice. There were plenty of power sockets in odd places in the room, though I missed having one in the bathroom. We also had nowhere to put our things, so they stayed on the floor or in our suitcases. Service was perfect, with fresh towels every day. Just left of the hotel there's a street food restaurant with a super nice lady. The rice was great, and I'd give it 7/5 stars. Worth going for real food at great prices, not the touristy food I hate.

Clean rooms and bathrooms, and the staff were helpful and nice. I found the rooms pretty hot even with the AC, and I'm someone who really likes air conditioning. It's close to the main spots in Patong and a good place to meet people.

The owners were kind enough to offer us a different room, but couldn't promise the noise would be any better, so we stayed put. The only reason for my four stars is that we woke up every day to hammering and drilling, probably from the next building. The room itself was fine, with a comfortable bed and reliable Wi-Fi, and the beach and main street were both close.
