Bring essentials like soap and toilet paper if you stay here. We had no room service during our five days, and the room smelled awful. The windows and floors were oily and very dirty, and the blankets and linens had yellowish stains. A water pump ran noisily 24/7. The bathroom door was broken and sometimes left us stuck inside, and there was no warm water. Worst sleep ever, and I can't recommend staying here. The staff at the bar were very friendly, though.

It's about a 20-minute walk to Bangla Road and close enough to the town center if you're happy to walk. Bike taxis are easy to find and cost 100 baht to get basically anywhere in town. The Makro supermarket is just around the corner, a handy landmark since all the taxi drivers knew where it was. There's also laundry, several nearby European-style cafes and plenty of top-notch restaurants. A bit down-market, but the location is excellent. The showers are great, the air conditioning works well and the beds are more than good enough. The room, sheets and towels were spotless. Internet can be flaky, though good enough to stay connected, and the bar downstairs has excellent wifi if you need to do something like a Zoom meeting. At about $20 a day, you can't expect everything to be perfect, but it's very good value for money.

The owner lent us a motorbike at no charge, which made it easy to reach different beaches. The rooms felt old, though, and nights were noisy. We stayed several days and never got room service.

I suspect the 5/5 reviews are fake and pushing the rating up. My own stay was awful: the room didn’t match the Agoda listing, with a filthy room, a broken door, a disgusting bathroom, furniture unlike the photos, and no hot water the whole time. When I showed reception what I’d booked, they blamed me. The woman who couldn’t speak English used Google Translate to say it was my mistake, that the rooms were the same, and that it wasn’t the hotel’s problem. I tried to cancel, but they told me to call the boss. After I explained what had happened, he hung up. Since I’d paid online, I was stuck. There was no customer service at all. I wouldn’t recommend booking here. If you do, at least book in person so you can check the room first. I warned you.
