At the Beach Koh Larn 2

The accommodation had no one looking after it, and I never even saw the resort owner. I had to call twice before getting a ride from the pier. When I hired a motorbike, they first refused to swap it even though the throttle was stuck, but eventually they did. Breakfast was awful, with spoiled orange juice and soggy bread. Checking out meant waiting another half hour at the counter, and there wasn't a single fan.

For 2500 THB a night on a long weekend, I expected more. I don’t know the usual rate, but at that price I could have gone elsewhere. The photos suggested a beachside stay; it’s actually in a residential area, far from the beach. The pool has little privacy, with gaps in the wooden barrier looking into the next room, and it sits right in front of someone else’s house. There was nobody at reception when I arrived or when I checked out, so I had to call for help both times. There were no security guards or anyone watching the place either. Parking a car rented at the pier cost 100 THB, but the gate wouldn’t lock, the doors inside the house felt insecure, and the accommodation says it isn’t responsible for lost belongings. The room was bright at night because the curtains didn’t block the light. I could hear traffic, dogs barking and howling, and the person in the next room snoring. It wasn’t soundproof, and I couldn’t sleep.

The rooms are lovely and work well for families. There’s a pool for swimming and playing.
