Once the room issue was sorted, the rest of our stay was wonderful. We had a great time by the pool, and the location by the beach worked well for our family and for staying away from Pattaya’s nightlife. The staff overall were great, but check-in was rough. The room we were shown was different from the one we were given, and the room we got smelled damp, almost like fungus. It took a while to get it fixed, and one staff member spoke to me very disrespectfully, nearly shouting and calling me unreasonable. I was there with my two kids, one still an infant, and felt they were being completely unaccommodating and had misrepresented the room. Thanks to the rest of the staff for making the rest of the stay so good.

The breakfast buffet had a good spread of breads, fruit, yogurt, salad, and other dishes, plus a coffee machine with different options. I was happy to spend my money here. The rooms feel upmarket, and I loved relaxing in the bathtub. The resort is well placed for bars and restaurants, and the facilities were excellent. Staff were friendly and ready to help. A big thank-you to the management and team at Avalon Beach Resort.

The bathroom and plumbing were the main disappointment. The sink taps were fiddly to shut off, and the toilet kept flushing, so I had to open the tank myself and put the cap back over the pipe. On three separate occasions during our week, a drain smell spread from the bathroom through the whole room. Staff fixed it, but only for a day before it came back. We liked the spacious bedroom, its Thai styling, the location, and the pool. It was close to restaurants and shops along Jomtien’s main beach road. The pool was large and not too crowded, since most guests went to the beach. Breakfast had a good choice, though the coffee queue moved slowly. Some staff were nice, but one young woman in the restaurant was quite rude when I asked for something or pointed out they were running low on an item.

We stayed in the Executive Suite Seaview, which was spacious and had a private balcony, separate living area, kitchenette, and bathtub. The resort sits right by Dongtan Beach, with a big pool tucked into a tropical garden just steps from the sand. It’s a peaceful, leafy place to unwind in Pattaya. We enjoyed dining at Beach Kitchen, especially in the evening with the sea views and live music. A quiet and comfortable seaside getaway.

We were a couple traveling with our 19-month-old twins, and everyone had a lovely time. The rooms have a vintage look that gives the place a charming feel, and the washrooms were spotless and just like the pictures. Staff were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, and the pool was very nice. Prices seemed reasonable compared with many other restaurants and resorts in Thailand. A comfortable, enjoyable, family-friendly stay in Pattaya.
