Baron Beach Hotel

My fiancé and I spent a few days here, and it was the best hotel experience I've had in Thailand. The hotel is beautiful, service was great, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We're looking forward to coming back soon. 10/10 all around, highly recommend.

The pool is nice, with towels provided and a bar and food shop right there. The staff were friendly and professional, and our room had a balcony, though the room itself was nothing special. The location is excellent for getting around: there's a 7-11 downstairs, the beach is a very short walk away, street food carts line the road outside day and night, and the hotel is directly across from the premium Central mall in Pattaya. Getting to many rooms is a bit awkward, since the layout means using stairs, long corridors, and elevators.

We stayed two nights at Baron Beach Hotel, Pattaya, and were made to pay 800 baht at checkout over a towel and pillowcase they said were “dirty.” The towel had only light sand and use marks after we took it to the beach, and it wasn't damaged. The pillowcase had a few small dark spots that looked like mold or damp stains. I think those marks were there before we arrived or came from poor laundry storage, but the staff blamed us. Instead of simply washing the towel, they charged us and put it in a laundry bag, saying it now belonged to us. The photos attached show the marks and spots they charged us for. The room number was written on the laundry bag they “kindly” gave me. These marks could easily have been cleaned, or may have already been there. For a hotel calling itself 4-star, this felt absurd and dishonest. When we tried to discuss it, the staff were rude and dismissive. One said they “don’t care” and told us to “write whatever you want.” That says a lot about how guests are treated there. The hotel advertises itself as 4-star, but this felt embarrassing and arrogant. Save yourself the frustration, there are plenty of Pattaya hotels that care about their guests. Baron Beach Hotel is the opposite of what a professional hotel should be. I wish I could give zero stars, because even one feels like too much.

The rooms were clean, and it's easy to reach the beach on foot. Those are the good points. I wish there were an option for zero stars, because the reception staff brought the whole experience down. They were very rude and didn't know how to deal with guests. At checkout they asked me to wait 20 minutes while they checked the room. Then the receptionist said a spoon was missing. I didn't know how many spoons had been in the room, and I tried to explain that I hadn't eaten there, so I hadn't used them. She wouldn't listen and told me to go back upstairs to help the room boy look. I asked what I was supposed to do if he couldn't find it. I was short on time and didn't want an argument, so I offered to pay, but she first said 1000 THB. When I asked if they kept silver in the room, she corrected herself and said 100 THB. I realized there was no point talking further with reception. I went back up to the 4th floor and helped the room boy find the spoon, which was lying just below the table where the cups were kept. I went back down and told the receptionist what had happened. She didn't apologize, just said thank you. The staff were discourteous and showed no empathy, and put me in an embarrassing position as if I'd come to take their spoons. The hotel management made a big mistake putting these people at reception. Better avoid this hotel and stay somewhere else.
