Centara Avenue Residence & Suites Pattaya

The staff were kind and provided great service. The hotel sits in the middle of the city, and the beach road is about a 10-minute walk away. The pool and food court looked good to me. The room rate is fair and affordable, though I had some concern about the door lock. It was loose and I couldn’t lock it properly. I don’t know whether that’s an issue in every room.

I only stayed in the condo building, so I can’t review the hotel itself. The location is great and the pool is amazing. My one complaint is the smell in the lobby. It seems to come from the barely working washroom and hangs around all day. I don’t know how the staff can work in that stench, and I don’t understand why nobody is doing anything about it.

The breakfast was good and the pool was nice, but the waterslide wasn’t working. The pool shut promptly at 8:00 p.m., and the kitchen closed at 4:00 p.m. We won’t stay here again. A building next door was being demolished, with loud smashing and drilling starting every morning at 7:00 a.m. and going on through the day. The hotel didn’t warn us. When we complained at the front desk, the staff sounded angry and rude, as if we were to blame. Since this happened over New Year’s, we couldn’t find another hotel. We paid a lot for such a rude awakening.

Pattaya hotels tend to be overpriced, but this place had a reasonable rate. The front desk staff were attentive, friendly, and professional. The beds were comfortable and had four pillows, and I liked the location, balcony, TV, WiFi, and spacious pool with slides. The showers were nice too. Breakfast was just okay, but the staff were friendly and the fish tank made a nice decoration. Some things need maintenance, including the toilet door and sauna. I also couldn’t get the room cleaned, even when I asked in the evening.
