The location and service at Charlie Place are amazing. I’d come back, even with the room issues. For about 700 baht, the room is what you’d expect, though better shower heads, sturdier doors, and improved beds and furniture would make a big difference. The doors felt a little weak to me. At that price, I can’t complain too much. I needed somewhere in a bind and this worked out. I didn’t eat or drink in the lobby downstairs, so I can’t speak to its quality. One thing to know, the street can get quite loud at night, so it won’t suit everyone.

I haven’t stayed here myself, but friends have. They said the rooms are pretty good for the price, and I think they all have balconies. The location is excellent, within walking distance of everything and right in the middle of party central.

If you’re mostly out exploring and just need a cheap room in a great location, this could work. The beds are okay, though not especially comfortable. Rooms without windows feel a bit depressing, and even the back room was fairly noisy. You get what you pay for, but I’m not sure I’d return.

For $19 I’ve got a huge room with a balcony, and this place is awesome. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back. If street noise bothers you, downtown Pattaya probably isn’t for you.

I stayed one night, and the bed sheets smelled absolutely foul. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
