D Living Pattaya

My wife and daughter enjoyed our stay, and we liked spending the afternoons by the pool after a day at the beach. The hotel has an unusual single-story layout, with nearly all the rooms facing the central pool. That’s pleasant to look out at, but with the curtains open, people by the pool can see into your room. Staff were courteous and attentive, and there’s parking out front. The rooms are small but clean. The bed felt a bit firm, though the hotel was quiet enough that sleeping wasn’t a problem. It’s roughly 200 meters from the ocean, an easy walk, and there’s a 7-11 about 300 meters away along with small restaurants serving basic Thai and foreign food. The area is peaceful, so it’s not a place I’d suggest for anyone looking to party. A few details could be better. The washroom has no proper door: the sink is open to the room, and a shower curtain screens the shower and toilet. That’s unusual and gives less privacy than a regular door, something the promotional photos don’t show. The pool’s underwater lights seemed to be broken during our stay. Three were sitting above the water at the edge, with electrical cords still attached underwater. It may be safe, but it looked unsettling, and they didn’t seem in a hurry to fix it. There are only five or six loungers for 38 rooms, so more would help. Breakfast tasted good, but it’s a fixed choice of Thai-style rice soup, fried rice or a standard American breakfast. All were fine, with standard-to-small portions. I understand a 38-room hotel can’t be expected to have a big buffet, but next time I’d skip the included breakfast. It’s a trade-off of staying somewhere small. Even with these minor inconveniences, it was a pleasant stay and we’d come back.
