Eastiny Inn Hotel

The room itself was okay, but there were far too many problems. Thousands of ants were everywhere, and there weren't enough sockets, so I had to buy an extension lead. The bars below were insanely loud, with music shaking the room; I could only sleep by turning the TV up to drown it out. If you can't sleep with loud music, don't stay here. There are no balcony chairs or table, either. The pool is advertised as closing at 9, but it shuts at 6, which was really annoying and felt like false advertising. It closes early for no clear reason, though I never saw a lifeguard or any worker there during my seven days. The water had too much chlorine, the floor was slimy and seemed uncleaned for ages, and the wooden sunbeds looked ancient and were falling apart.

The location is okay and very close to the beach, but bars on the road make it loud until 3:00 a.m. The building's common areas and bathrooms look like they got a partial renovation, and those areas look pretty nice. The rooms and whole building should have been renovated too, and the furniture needs replacing. My sheets, pillowcases, and towels were stained. There was only one outlet in the room, nowhere near the bed, and the balcony door had a gap. There are no privacy curtains, so the lights have to stay on, but they're dim. The front desk wasn't the friendly Thai welcome I'm used to. After one night, I don't see how this place got 3.5 stars; at best I'd call it a one- or two-star hotel.

The bed was uncomfortable, with metal springs pressing into my back, and there was a loud generator or something running in the car park 24/7. Sound from the nightclubs, bars, and live music venues around the hotel came straight through the huge gaps around the doors. The hotel hasn't made any effort to soundproof the rooms. Unless you're planning to go out and only return after 3 a.m., there's no point staying here. I had to take a sleeping tablet to knock myself out; otherwise, I wouldn't have slept a minute.
