I-Talay Resort Pattaya

During our New Year week vacation, our whole floor flooded. Because of the flooding, we were given one fewer room on the first day. The next day, another room flooded, and she blamed us and didn't clean it.

For the very good price, I didn't expect such a nice room. I was pleasantly surprised to get suite #1401, with two rooms, two AC's, two TV's, and a large fridge for my three-week stay. I'm a Swiss tour leader and guide with over 47 years of experience around the world. The reception staff were very friendly, helpful, and kind. Towels can be exchanged at reception, where you can also get drinking water. The room is made up only on request. The beach is about a ten-minute walk away, and the baht pickup buses on the main routes cost just 10 baht per trip. Free Wi-Fi worked okay in the room with help from the nice reception lady. Some bathroom fittings need fixing, as does the door lock. All in all, I can recommend this hotel. Kop Khun krub!

A friend recently stayed here and got a good-sized one-bedroom room, maybe 36 square meters, at a good price. But it felt more like a warehouse, with bare concrete everywhere, and badly needed fresh paint and cleaning. Both elevators were broken and very dirty, with spiders and webs inside. Since nearby hotels cost only a little more, this place might work if the others are fully booked.

The guys running the hotel are nice. The rooms are a bit old, but the atmosphere is relaxed and you can move around freely. You can swim in the pool as much as you want, and there's free coffee with biscuits for breakfast or anytime. I'll definitely come back on my next vacation.
