LawinTa Hotel Pattaya

We planned on four nights and ended up staying ten days. The rooftop pool is nice, and it’s a calm area, close to good food and massage places. The beach is walkable too, though it’s not right nearby. The staff were great, and everything was clean and tidy. Definitely recommend this hotel, just book it. C

The team really goes out of its way to make your stay great. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and there’s a nice range of tasty breakfast options. I’d highly recommend it for a longer stay.

Free parking in the underground garage was useful, and the staff were friendly and provided excellent service. My room on the seventh floor was very large, but it got little natural light and looked straight at a huge apartment building. At night, thumping music from a nearby bar kept me awake until around 3 a.m. I stayed three nights in February. The buffet breakfast was only 4/10 for me. There were no sausages, bacon, cheese or hash browns, and when I asked for hot tea in a pot, I was told no pot was available. It was swelteringly hot in the restaurant on my first morning, though the air conditioning was on the next day. For a place listed as four star, I expected same day laundry, but they only offered next day service, so I went to a laundry shop nearby.

The location is quiet apart from the banging doors, and there’s no street noise. It’s also handy for the street food market, bars and the seaside, about a five minute walk away. But if you need proper rest, I wouldn’t choose this place. It may suit someone who just needs somewhere to sleep and doesn’t plan to spend much time in the room. The building is a low average budget place with seven floors and long corridors. There’s no air conditioning in the corridors, probably to save money. The doors have rubber seals and are hard to open and close, so people push them hard. In the morning and often after midnight, you’ll hear them banging along the corridors. The Hitachi elevators are quiet, if a little slow. My twin deluxe room had a balcony, but its shape made it feel uncozy. There’s no lamp by either bed, so if you’re sharing, you may end up using your phone for light. The furniture feels budget, and with the curtains closed there isn’t enough light. There’s a small drying rack on the balcony. The bathroom has a shower, no tub. Its brown floor and wall tiles make it hard to tell if they’re really clean. The AC works, but struggles to keep the room at 20C. The rooftop on the eighth floor has a small pool and only a few beach chairs. The pool area is good, the water is clean, and the sun reaches it all day, so no problem there. The fitness room has no windows and the AC is usually off. You can turn it on, but then wait about an hour. There’s one combination machine and no free weights. It’s basically there for show. Anyone who wants an individual workout will need to find somewhere else.
