Lido Beach Hotel

For me, this is a nice, clean hotel at a moderate budget level. Booking through agoda gets you a reasonable price. Personally, it feels like a fair choice.

The room was old and run-down, and only 1 of the 5 plug sockets worked. I was put in room 107 on the ground floor because I use a walking stick. The bed was okay, the shower was hot, and it was relatively quiet, at least. There was a huge cockroach in the room, and I was glad I only had to stay 2 nights. I hope the other rooms are better.

I had to look at 5 rooms, and every one had a problem: broken shower heads, a mouldy smell, or air conditioning that didn’t work. Hot water was unreliable, and the staff’s English was limited. In the last room, cockroaches came under the door twice. At checkout they asked if I’d be leaving before 12:00, even though that’s the official checkout time. The hotel needs serious work on maintenance and cleanliness.

Parking was available, the rooms were clean, and the service was good. The location is about as good as you could hope for. We’ll come back next time.
