LK Residence

I stayed for a week and would put it around 3-3.5 stars, rather than the 4 shown on Google Maps. I wasn't disappointed overall and might return if the price offered good value, but it feels as if nobody is managing the place, and there's plenty to improve. At minimum, guests should get a friendly welcome, help with their bags, and someone to open the doors. A man sat at the Concierge desk when I arrived, but I don't know his role. He didn't help carry luggage up the front steps or open the manual doors. Check-in itself was reasonably quick and friendly. The lobby and hotel look great at first, but during the stay the worn condition and neglected basic maintenance become clear. Studio rooms are large, with a private bathroom despite the website listing it as shared, a desk and chair, sofa, fridge, safe, and a small balcony with two chairs and a table. The open-air hallways mean you can hear the bars downstairs until 2-3 am. The whirlpool tub doesn't work, and there were several maintenance problems: the living room lights never worked, possibly because the bulbs were burnt out, the towel rack and cupboard hinges were loose, the cupboard wouldn't close properly, and the furniture had chips and scratches. Daily cleaning was fine, with towels and amenities replaced. A small seating area off the lobby has a few free breakfast items, including instant coffee, tea, bread and toaster, and cookies. Just be aware that small ants were crawling over the sugar bowls, as shown in the video.

The location is hard to beat, right by all the places you want to be. I really enjoyed my stay. My room was clean, spacious, and comfortable.

Everything else was pristine, and the room had a good-sized fridge, a warm, cozy bed, and AC that worked well. The price was decent, the room spacious, and the location amazing. It's right across from a 7/11, with laundry and plenty of good restaurants nearby. LK metro is down the street, and there are lots of beer bars within walking distance, making it a dream for partners and night lifers. Soi Buakhao and Central are a reasonable walk away. The bathroom was the one problem. The tub didn't have a regular shower head, just a wand that spurted water. It was awful trying to shower normally, since I had to hold the hose in one hand and scrub with the other. Showers took twice as long and felt half as effective. LK Residence, please modernize the showers. That would make it an easy 10/10, but with this awful setup I can't give it a perfect score. This was especially frustrating for me since I shower twice or more a day because of the heat and sweating.

My deluxe room was huge, with a bathtub, walk-in shower, large fridge, and balcony. It was a bit old and worn, but still good value. The rooms are soundproof, so once inside I had peace and quiet and couldn't hear the bars next door. There's a 7/11 across the street, with lots of restaurants and nightlife nearby. I didn't see a need to go to walking street, since there was enough nightlife within a 5-minute walk. The staff were kind and professional, and I really liked the hotel overall. I'd definitely stay again, 9/10.
