Marin House Pattaya

After a long, tiring trip from Chiang Mai to Pattaya for a holiday, I arrived with a confirmed Agoda booking and was told by the owner that there was no room for me. When I insisted they accommodate me, the owner behaved terribly and threatened to call the police. The police said it was the owner's responsibility to honor the booking, but I still wasn't given a room. I'd give this hotel minus 100 if I could. International travelers should avoid it. Don't be tempted by the occasional low prices, which can be misleading. Don't trust this hotel or waste your time and money here.

The platform confirmed our Agoda booking, and the property owner confirmed it too when we called. But when we arrived, we were told there were no rooms. We politely asked to be accommodated, and the owner instead demanded an additional 1300 Baht for a room. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

The owner refused to acknowledge our advance Agoda booking and even pressured us to cancel it. When we asked for an alternative, since our Pattaya trip was already planned, they tried to threaten us with the Thai police. I lost almost half a day finding another hotel in a better location. Easily the worst hotel experience I've had, and extremely unethical and unprofessional.

I booked a room on Agoda, but they refused to give it to me when I arrived. When I argued, they demanded extra money and even threatened to call the police. It was a terrible experience at a tourist destination, and the stress disrupted my whole tour.
