Mood Hotel Pattaya

The rooms are on the small side, and you can hear noise from outside in the hallway. Even so, I highly recommend the hotel. It has a very modern, aesthetic look, and I really liked the room design and style. It feels especially suited to Gen Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha. The sea is only a one-minute walk away. Self check-in and check-out machines made things quick, and the young staff were friendly and welcoming.

Those pillows were awful, hard and impossible to sleep on. For all four nights I used the cover from a decorative pillow, while my husband put a soft jumper over his. I even thought about buying pillows at Big C. The doors could be glitchy too. If one didn't open on the first try, its alarm would go off. We did enjoy our stay, and the room, a mood “M”, was big enough for a hot shower and a place to sleep, even if it wasn't spacious. The staff were helpful and friendly, and housekeeping was attentive and great. The pool was too cool, though, and its views face away from the beach. Mood Hotel sits in a quiet ally at the northern end of Pattaya beach. It's about two minutes to the beach, restaurants, and 7eleven stores. Local buses cost 10baht and can take you to the walking street or the night bazar. We walked to the night bazar in about half an hour. Big C is at the end of the ally, and Terminal 21 is a 20-minute walk if you don't mind walking. There are lots of massage places nearby and a few bars down the ally. The pizza place onsite was ok, and a Chineese restaurant is next door. The hallways got really noisy at all hours, with guests talking loudly, running around, and banging on each others doors. We also saw guests leave the pool without drying off and trail water back to their rooms.

The location is the one real plus for me, but I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel has a distinctive look and is quite beautiful, though the general environment wasn't good. At night, loud music from a bar made it extremely noisy. The bedrooms are tiny, packed close together, and have thin walls, so you can hear people talking. The bathroom has barely enough room to turn around, and the bedroom is smaller than the balcony. There's no work desk, the TV can't be adjusted, and even the narrow hallway felt uncomfortable to walk through. Parking was a hassle, too. There are very few spaces. You might have to ask a neighboring hotel, and if that's full, park in another building down a different alley.

The room worked really well for me, and the shower was great. It was clean and comfortable, with fresh bedding and big windows that let in natural light. The staff were friendly, and the location was very convenient. I liked the lobby vending machines with drinks and coffee, plus the free dispenser for hot and cold water. My favorite was The Dragon Belly, the Chinese restaurant on the first floor, with delicious Dim Sum and Chinese food at reasonable prices. But the hotel isn't soundproof. I'm a musician and not especially sensitive to noise, but if you are, I'd bring earplugs for sleeping.
