Everything we needed was within walking distance, with the beach, pubs, 7/11, and plenty of local food spots close by. That was the best part of Jomtien Palace. The room was clean, though the sheets were a bit dirty at first. The staff changed them quickly when I asked, which I appreciated. I had an okay stay, and it's a decent place if location matters most.

For about 800 baht a night, this was good value and I'd stay again. I slept very well in a comfortable, clean bed, and my room was spacious with a good balcony. The location is excellent, five minutes on foot from the beach, with the baht bus passing right outside in both directions. There's also a short walk to lots of bars and places to eat. It's a budget hotel, though, and the decor is tired; it could use a makeover.
The room smelled so bad it made me feel sick, and the hotel was horribly dirty. Cleaners came in groups of three or four at random times and didn't actually clean. At best, they brought toilet paper. The bed linen was dirty too. When we asked for a change, they replaced the sheet and duvet cover but left the pillowcases, so we had to ask again. The administrators were rude and showed no friendliness or willingness to help. I wouldn't recommend this place. Even cheap hotels can clean properly and communicate with guests, but this one clearly can't.
We've stayed here a few times before, but this Christmas holiday was our last visit. The rude reception and housekeeping staff completely ruined the family holiday. We found the pool towel policy impossible: towels were handed out only from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We went down at 10:30 AM and were told they were all gone, and that we should have come at 8:00 AM. Getting towels shouldn't require an early queue. Housekeeping was worse. We left the "Clean Room" sign out all morning, but nobody came by 2:00 PM. When I asked a staff member for fresh towels, she got an attitude and said she'd do it "when she had time." At 4:00 PM, while my wife was showering and we were getting ready to go out, they knocked to clean. I politely asked for 15-20 minutes to finish, but the staff member was aggressive, refused to wait, and said, "Baby, I don’t really care." It showed no respect for our privacy. After reading other recent reviews, I can see this rudeness may be a common pattern, not a one-off. Owner, your staff is driving the business into the ground. There are no positives I can mention after this experience. The reception and housekeeping staff were extremely rude, the towel arrangements were impossible, and there was no flexibility or respect for guests' privacy. We will not be back.
The rooms are a decent size, but none of them have bathtubs. The pool is on the roof and has chairs only, no loungers, so lying flat means using the concrete. You also have to take stairs to get there, as there’s no elevator. The gym equipment looks about 15 years old and is in poor condition. I’m not sure whether the hotel or the apartments are responsible for it. Front desk staff can be rude, though it seems hit or miss.
