Saisawan is okay if you’re after somewhere secluded and quiet, though it’s a bit outside the city. Getting transport or finding supermarkets nearby can be inconvenient, especially when the price is nearly the same. I’d strongly recommend Avalon Beach Resort instead. It has a great location, easy beach access, and a much better experience overall. This is a real comment, and I’m sure you’ll remember it after staying there. Also, Saisawan charged me 500 baht for a missing key, which felt like a lot.

The rooms were clean and had no smells. That’s about all I liked. Breakfast was mostly processed stuff like ham and sausages, with too much rice and noodles and sugary cereal, so I mostly stuck to eggs. The place is quite secluded, with no restaurants or 7eleven really within walking distance, so maybe it works if you want quiet. I was also disappointed that a “5 star hotel” didn’t provide a toothbrush and toothpaste. They said I could buy them at the lobby shop. I hadn’t brought any because I expected 5 star value, given the room rates.

The pool is nice, there’s plenty of parking, and the kids club and pool tables are good additions. The staff were very friendly too. But this isn’t a 5* hotel. The rooms are large and nicely furnished, yet the bed was two singles pushed together instead of a double, uncomfortable if you’re in the middle. The bath itself is nice, but you have to sit in it to shower. The shower attachment doesn’t reach your head if you stand, and there’s no screen to keep water from making the bathroom slippery. For a proper 5* setup, there’d be a separate shower area and bath. Food, including breakfast, was pretty poor. I was there over New Year when it was busy, but there weren’t any glasses for water or juice, and the egg station queue was very long. The next day I brought my own bottle of water. It’s okay as a 3* listed property, and I’d have rated it higher at that level, but for a 5* listing I expected more.

A quiet, cozy hotel, and a lovely place to stay. The staff greet you with a smile whenever they see you, which feels so nice. Breakfast is delicious, and they make a great omelet too. I’d recommend it if you need a break from the hustle and bustle.

The building is beautiful and mostly clean, but our stay felt nothing like a “luxury” resort. I’ve had better food and service in hostels, and I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. The biggest issue was that nobody acknowledged or addressed the problems we raised, even though they seemed fixable. If you do stay, bring extra water. They provide Singha water when they actually clean the room, and it doesn’t taste good. Our room was a good size and mostly clean, but for some reason it wasn’t cleaned or made up on our last day before we left. The bed was hard, though there was a mattress pad and it was surprisingly okay to sleep on. The pool was clean and the area mostly quiet, apart from construction noise. We’d booked a “sea view,” but mostly looked out over a field. On our arrival day, there were a couple of tour groups, so it was busy and we had to wait for the room. We were told where the restaurant was and decided to have lunch while we waited after traveling. We said hello and asked one worker where to sit. They said anywhere, so we picked a spot near the only other table. It took 15-20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, even though that table already had its meals. The person who took our order was miserable, rude, and looked angry, with no greeting or conversation. We felt like we were interrupting the staff’s personal time. We paid over 400bht for fries and a curry, which might have been okay if the food hadn’t been cold and below average. Breakfast was delicious the first morning, with a range of fresh dishes, hot coffee, and tea. That was the last time it was nice. We’d paid extra for a seaview room with breakfast included. Once the tour buses were gone, what remained after 0800 on the other mornings was cold, including the coffee and tea. We raised it at reception on the third day, but nothing was done or said, not even an apology or an offer to work on it. With over 15 staff and so few reservations by then, we expected someone to acknowledge it. On our last morning, the menu was confusingly disappointing and sparse. The only improvement was a small smile from one server. The gym was disgusting. It smelled so bad I felt nauseous as soon as I walked in. There was no air circulation, fan, or a/c. I left the door cracked to air it out, came back six hours later, and the smell hadn’t changed.
