Sealey Resort Koh Larn

The location is great, right by the beach, with fresh sea air and a pleasant atmosphere in the morning. The room, though, was in terrible condition. The sheets and blankets looked very worn and clearly hadn't been changed. The hotel was nearly full, so I didn't have much choice once I was there, but I still paid 1,500 THB a night. I think 500-800 THB at most would be a fair price for the room's condition, and personally I wouldn't value it above 300 THB. Despite the excellent location, the room was seriously damaged and not worth a four-digit nightly rate. I'd tell anyone booking to inspect the room carefully on arrival before deciding to stay. Very disappointing.

The place is very run down, and the lobby entrance isn't welcoming. The room decor is old and tired, there's no hot water in the shower, the TV doesn't work and just has a wire hanging out of the wall, and the safe is missing from my room. It looks like there's no maintenance at all, including in the gardens. It seems a group of young people may have been left to run the hotel without support, just being told to do their best. Compare the current photos with the ones on Agoda or Booking.com before booking, because they look completely different.

The 1,000 THB nightly rate felt out of line with what we got. The room was in very poor shape, with peeling walls, mold, and a heavy damp smell. When we asked for fresh bed linen, they refused and offered to move us instead. In that room there were no towels, and staff said they would bring some in four hours. They never came, so we had to ask again. Even for a budget stay, that was unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend it.

At first the room seemed okay, but there was mold in the bathroom, no toilet paper, no internet in the room, and the curtains were dirty and smelled bad. The TV didn't work, and there was no room phone. There's no breakfast either. For the price, it really wasn't worth it. I can't recommend this resort. I wish I'd read the earlier review first.
