Sweet Pound Hotel

I spent a few months here and had a fantastic stay. The weekly rates were very reasonable, a little cheaper than paying by the day, which worked well for a longer visit. The hotel covered the basics: my room was clean and comfortable, with a safe, fridge, hot water system, and working AC. I had no insects in the room or bed. It was quiet at night despite the busy area, and the beach was about 200 metres away. The mall, restaurants, and bars were also within easy walking distance. Reception isn't open 24 hours, but the staff let me arrange check-in and check-out in advance. For after-hours entry, there's a security pass system, which I appreciated. Ben at the front of the house was tremendous throughout my stay. Her professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond made a big difference to my time in Thailand. The building is small, with a few rooms on each of its 4 floors, and it wasn't too rowdy. If you're after a clean, affordable, no-frills place in a good location, it has what you need for a comfortable stay.

I stayed for 1month. The hotel was a great value, and the mall is nearby. There's no lift, but that was manageable. The people at reception were awesome, and Ben, Ploy& Thia were a great help whenever I needed it. She was so nice.

The receptionist lady was awesome, and there were some amazing books at reception. I had a great 2-day stay, with a newly installed AC in my room. The location is great, and the daily room price was good considering the covid situation.

The older woman at the front desk demanded more money for no reason. I'd already booked and paid online, but she still refused to give me a room. Looking at the other comments, I reasonably suspect she may have lost the previous customer's key and tried to pass the blame to me. She seemed to be looking for someone to pay for it, and asked for over one thousand thai dollar or she wouldn't hand over my room, even though it was paid for. I was the one caught up in it, while one white young man who was staying there long term at the cheap room price walked by, knowing nothing about what had happened, and tried to act like a hero rescuing the staff. He stared at me angrily and tried to threaten me into stopping the discussion with the staff. Ridiculous people here. I almost called the police. By the end I was tired and scared, out on the street at night trying to find another hotel. After I called agoda, they helped me get a refund. This was the worst experience of my travel life.
