Unique Regency Hotel Pattaya

At about $40 a night, this was a workable base for exploring Pattaya, and the staff were friendly and professional. The air conditioning also did its job well. The room itself felt old and worn, though: furniture looked ready to be replaced, bathroom caulking around the sink and shower had visible mold, and the cabinet hinges below the sink were badly rusted. The bed was listed as large, but was two twin mattresses joined with a sheet tied over them, and they still slid apart overnight. The towels were rough and thin, so bring your own if that matters to you. There were no charging outlets beside the bed, and being on a corner meant some road noise. Check-in also came with a 1,000 baht cash deposit. Pretty average overall.

We found ants in the room, and it was dirty with mold all over. The rooms are disgusting. I really can't recommend staying here. I'm surprised other people have left good reviews, because I just don't get it. Maybe they have two or three decent rooms.

The doorman was the one bright spot, a really kind, nice man who helped with our bags and always wished us a good day. The hotel looked completely different in person from the pictures. It was dirty, mold was everywhere, and the shower head was coated in a layer of grime. The rest of it felt like a scam. I won't book here again, and wouldn't recommend it.

Breakfast was okay, though there wasn't much variety. The rest of our stay was disgusting. I'm not a fussy tourist and usually stay in humble hotels, so I can accept an old building, but this place was dirty and moldy, with broken furniture everywhere. My feet turned black from walking barefoot in the room. Room service basically didn't exist. They changed the towels and made the bed, but didn't actually clean. I also don't understand the 1,000 baht deposit at check-in when everything was already broken and dirty. Better avoid this place. I've attached photos of our nasty room.
