The bathroom was dirty, and the water heater didn’t work. The room for five people had just two glasses, and the electrical outlet was loose.

I felt safe traveling alone here, thanks to the secure key card and door lock. The room was quite large, and the elderly couple at the counter were lovely and polite. Cleaning staff were friendly and offered plenty of food and place recommendations. I stayed three days and two nights, arriving in the evening, and the price was good. I’d booked a beach-side room with a view, but power lines, trees, and umbrellas blocked it. Still, the beach is only a short walk away, though the sun was scorching. I thought May was low season, but I arrived on Visakha Bucha Day😧. There weren’t many people, mostly foreigners walking along the sidewalk, and there were a lot of foreigners. A 7-Eleven is at the end of the street, with another to the right a bit farther away. The night market is close by, and another market at the beginning of Soi 9 is visible from afar, to the left where the 7-Eleven is. Food was expensive, so you had to choose restaurants carefully, big ones are always expensive, haha. Some street vendors sold papaya salad, mostly parked near the 7-Eleven on the right by the night market. We ordered papaya salad through an app and had diarrhea that night 😭. We just thought of it as a stomach ache, right? There’s a pharmacy nearby. If we couldn’t find food we liked, ordering through Grab was easy. It was convenient for getting around, and Grab drivers arrived quickly whenever we called one. For food, we just picked restaurants at random, haha.
